The book is designed to give the student an introduction to the MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) software. The book contains step-by-step project tutorials with screenshots using the MicroStation program. Both two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) techniques & tools are covered. The student begins with 2D versions of 12 projects. These projects are of mechanical-type projects in both imperial and metric units.

The final part of the book will consist of an assembly drawing of a Robotic Gripper End Effector. The student will first draw the parts in 3D format. About the Author
David Martin has 25 years of teaching experience with various subjects and software programs. He currently serves as the Department Chair of the Architecture Department at Glendale Community College in Glendale. California. He is also an adjunct instructor at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, California. Prior to his teaching career, he served in the United States military in both the Marine Corps Reserve and the US Army. He has also worked as a structural drafter/designer and as a CAD training consultant. He has taught subjects such as: Introduction to MicroStation, Architectural Drawing and Design, Architectural and Engineering Print Reading, International Building Code, Perspective Graphics, Descriptive Geometry, Metal Machining, Mechanical Drawing, Introduction to AutoCAD, and Introduction to Revit Architecture. He has taught versions of MicroStation beginning with V5 to V8i (SELECTseries 3). He currently teaches MicroStation V8i among other engineering and architectural subjects.
